- Turned the steering wheel back and forth to repeat customer complaint. There is a faint scraping/rubbing noise in the steering wheel when turning in either direction. Sounds as if it is coming from the steering column. We find the lower column shield is not perfectly centered and rubbing. We adjusted it and now the noise is gone.
