Services Performed
  • Scanned computer and found a code regarding the intake timing. Cleared code and it would reset almost right away. Continue with diagnostics and testing for proper power and signal to the motor and found it is ok. Research issues and found if the cover is contaminated with oil the entire valve timing component will have to be replaced. Its possible the contacts have failed as well. First step is to remove cover and inspect for oil contamination. If no contamination is preset and replacing the cover did not fix the issue, the valve timing motor will have to be replaced.
  • Upon removing timing cover, found a rubber plug that has dislodged causing oil to contaminate the cam sensor. This plug is currently not available. Cleaned off area as best as possible and replaced the cover along with the other seal. Cleared code and test drove vehicle with no further issues. If this happens again, we will have to wait until a new plug is available.
