Oil Changes
Keeping your car on the road means performing regular maintenance at scheduled intervals. The most important regular maintenance is your vehicle’s oil change. Performed every 3,000, 4,000 or 5,000 miles, depending on oil type, oil changes keep your vehicle’s engine running efficiently and provide an opportunity to inspect your vehicle for any potential issues. An oil change at Maple Grove Auto Service always includes a 27 point vehicle inspection, window cleaning and floor vacuuming.
27 Point Inspection
During every oil change we perform a 27 point inspection of your vehicle. This inspection allows us to monitor your vehicle and identify issues before they can cause a break down. The 27 point inspection includes fluid level and condition checks. We check your oil, brake fluid, transmission fluid, power steering fluid, and coolant. We then check the air filter, battery, tires (pressure and tread), exhaust, lights, windshield wipers and windshield washers. We will identify and inform you of any issues we find and provide you with estimates for repairs.
Synthetic vs. Conventional Oil Changes
While conventional oil provides an economical solution to your vehicle’s lubrication needs Synthetic oil will always prove superior for a number of reasons. Synthetic oil provides a longer life and superior lubrication for all makes and models. Synthetic oil changes are even required for certain vehicles. While a synthetic oil change can cost as much as three times a conventional oil change the benefits generally out-weigh the cost. With a conventional oil change you should be getting it changed at 3,000 mile intervals while with a synthetic you change it every 5,000 miles. Synthetic oils reduce wear on your engine. Suspension & Wheel Alignment
Keeping your car safely on the road means maintaining your vehicles suspension. Failure to check and maintain the suspension can cause your vehicle to become difficult to control and even brake. Worn or damaged suspension parts are the leading cause of wheel alignment issues. If your wheels are out of alignment your vehicle will have reduced traffic especially in slippery conditions.
MacPherson Strut
Most modern vehicles use the MacPherson Strut design that incorporate the strut(shock) and spring as one assembly. The MacPherson Strut design is most common in small front wheel drive vehicles but has become more popular with larger vehicles in recent years. Learn more about MacPherson Struts on Wikipedia….
Wheel Alignment and Tire Wear
Worn and damage suspension parts can cause uneven tire wear and can even wear your tires out quicker, costing you money.
Exhaust System
Your vehicle’s exhaust system is responsible for guiding the hazardous fumes safely away from the vehicle. These systems consist of a manifold, catalytic converters, sensors, mufflers, resonators, and sometimes turbochargers. At Maple Grove Auto Service we install original equipment and aftermarket exhaust systems for the best fit and longest life. Learn more about exhaust systems…
Leaking Exhaust
A leak in your cars pipes or mufflers poses a potentially dangerous safety risk to you and your passengers. A leak in your vehicle’s system can cause poisonous exhaust gases like hydrocarbons, carbon monoxide and nitrogen oxides. These dangerous gases can be odorless so you may not even know they are there. This is why Leaks should be repaired as soon as they are detected.
Obstructed Exhaust
An obstructed exhaust can cause your vehicle to perform poorly and may even prevent it from running at all.
